Recombinant Images. As processes of quantifying, analysing and now potentially transforming human life becomes enabled by digital technologies, the promise of incredible insights is tempered with the threat of tragic oversights. The artwork exhibited here correlates the digitisation and manipulation of genetic information to the use of the Photoshop software editing techniques within print culture.

paper - pulp painting/papermaking

"This exhibition is an experiment in the visual translation of memories and feelings of home,
through the use of domestic floral patterns. The
pulp paintings are made with fibres sourced
from donated or found recycled clothing, which
carry the stories from their previous owners into
my story of home. Bringing the past into the
present asks the question "what does home
mean to me?" as a single, older, non-homeowning
woman in contemporary Australian
society and culture?"
